PCS Technology

We do Pretty Cool Stuff.

Dan Hernandez founded Professional Computer Support in 1989.

His goal was to become the Bay Area’s preeminent IT support partner for medium-sized businesses.

While many computer support companies struggled during the dot-com boom of the 90’s, PCS thrived. Using leading-edge products to support our client’s business needs, we filled the need for outsourced technology support left by IT professionals leaving their organizations to join startups.

In the early 2000’s, PCS identified a need among local nonprofits to shift from technological dark ages to modern business systems. We partnered with organizations who were doing critical work in our communities to provide access to the same technical benefits and advantages as their enterprise counterparts.

We have built a highly skilled team of technical experts to keep IT Systems up-and-running at service levels usually seen only at Fortune 500 and Enterprise-level businesses.

Our History

1985

While working at Bain & Company, Dan Hernandez created the first local area network in SF for 200+ businesses and later migrated it to Novell.

1989

Professional Computer Support commenced in 1989 to provide business technology: simple and accurate solutions with immediate service.

1990’s

While many computer support companies struggled during the dot-com boom, we thrived. IT professionals were leaving local companies to join start-ups, leaving their organizations in need of outsourced IT staff.

2008

In response to the growing demand of the business community and the development of network monitoring tools, PCS started offering Managed Services, a flat fee IT support service that provided a pro-active approach to IT support.

PCS identified a need among local non-profits to shift from technological dark ages to modern business systems. PCS partnered with organizations who were doing critical work in our communities to give access to the same technical benefits and advantages as their enterprise counterparts.

2015

PCS moved to Executive Park Blvd at Candlestick Point, creating a centralized IT staff who provides IT monitoring and maintenance for our clients.

2019

PCS merged with Fixswift IT.

2022

After years of being affectionately referred to as PCS (both internally and by our clients), Professional Computer Support became PCS Technology, symbolizing a new era in our company’s long history.

Today

PCS Technology continues to expand our established 30 years history of success in the San Francisco Bay Area.
